MU is currently under contract with Nike is worth 23.5 million pounds per year. The deal with Nike will be exhausted by 2015. Hence today many apparel companies vying to reach an agreement with Manchester United.
According to The Daily Mail, Adidas, and Puma Warrior already held talks with Manchester United commercial director Richard Arnold this week. However, Nike and Adidas which seems to be competing until the end.
"We are now in discussions with several companies regarding product licensing, retail, and our global clothing that started in season 2015/2016," the official release MU.
Nike actually has an exclusive period to renew a contract with Manchester United, but the clause had expired last July. MU had the right to negotiate with other companies.
Many apparel companies are competing obviously very profitable MU. They can get a luxury that exceeds the contract agreement between Arsenal with Puma which is worth 30 million pounds per season. Reportedly MU could get 65 million pounds per year.
